Silicom has developed Elmer based tools for simulations of Kyropoulos sapphire crystal growth, and successfully verified the results to a well-known commercial crystal growth software.
Silicom has created an Elmer-based tool, which demostrates the capabilities of the software to simulate heat transfer and thermal stress mechanisms during the vertical gradient-freeze (VGF) growth of GaAs crystals.
After extensive numerical studies and successful comparisons to experiments in Bridgman, Czochralski, HEM and sublimation, Silicom has decided to select Elmer as a main open-source tool in crystal growth.
